The Undertaker to retire within year

Friday, April 17th, 2009

WWE ring announcer Tony Chimel announced at last night’s Raw house show in Dublin, Ireland that the Undertaker’s retirement tour would take place in April 2010.

WWE.com has the retirement tour listed under Germany’s scheduled events as, “WWE SmackDown & ECW Present Undertaker’s Rest In Peace Tour.”

I am sure we all knew this day was rapidly approaching. He has been in the WWE since, what, 1991 or there abouts? He has pretty much done everything he could possibly due, fued-wise, and I think the WWE is running out of fueds for him. Plus, I am sure his body is really hurting by now from all his years in the business. He was definately very lucky to escape WrestleMania without being seriously injured, what with that bothced spot where he practically landed on his head when he jumped over the top ropes and landed on the “camera man”, which was actually Sim Snuka. Was that incident Snuka’s fault by not being in the right spot, or did the Undertaker land short of the target? Who knows. But, it was reported the Undertaker was “running on fumes” for the rest of the match after that spot. You gotta give him credit if that is true. He put on one heck of a match after that.

I guess we will wait to see how his retirement is booked and see how the WWE promotes it. Hopefully, he gets a very worthy sendoff.

It’s official - Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker at WrestleMania 25

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

As seen on WWE Raw earlier tonight, Shawn Michaels won the right to wrestle The Undertaker at WrestleMania 25 by defeating Vladimir Kozlov. It was Kozlov’s first defeat in the WWE since he debuted a year ago.

As first rumored back in December here at The Wrestling Frenzy, it will be “Mr. WrestleMania” Shawn Michaels against “The Phenom” The Undertaker. This promisses to be a great battle, and could be the match of the night, which would be nothing new to Michaels. The Undertaker will put his streak of 16-0 on the line, at perhaps his last WrestleMania, against Shawn Michaels, who has had some of the greatest matches in the long history of WrestleMania.
